Take an Urban Safari with Gaspard the Fox

It’s an unlikely pairing – a radio presenter and an urban fox. BBC Radio 4 newsreader Zeb Soanes came home one night to find an injured fox outside his house. What seemed a simple offering of wafer-thin ham led to a beautiful friendship between Zeb and ‘Gaspard’ the fox, who is now the star of a series of children’s picture books. Come and hear about Gaspard’s adventures, create some foxy crafts and join Zeb and a team from UEA for an urban safari into the city of Norwich.

The annual Islington dog show and its fancy dress category was the inspiration for the second in the series of adventures for Gaspard and friends.

Zeb will read his new story and sign books at this colourful community event in the heart of Gaspards London.

Celebrated illustrator and classical music presenter James Mayhew returns to Turner Sims, captivating audiences of all ages with master story-telling and a ballet of brushstrokes, all perfectly timed with the music. James will be signing copies of his books, including Gaspard the Fox, after the performance.

For a special charity performance Zeb will narrate the Carnival of the Animals with the wonderful Northern Lights Symphony Orchestra and children’s choir, conducted by Adam Johnson in the beautiful setting of St Martin in the FIelds on London’s Trafalgar Square.

Zeb will be signing copies of Gaspard the Fox after the performance.
